The Luke Wenke Files

Luke Wenke’s affinity for writing and sending letters en masse became more than evident during his time in jail and prison. Over a nine-month-period alone, he sent more than 200 letters from jail while receiving no more than a handful. Despite the vast majority of his correspondence going unanswered, Wenke continued to write away, seemingly on a mission to prove whatever point he’s been trying to convey to the court and his victims for the last four years and counting.

Even when he’s not in jail or prison, Luke Wenke tends to utilize the U.S. postal service to make [often unwanted] contact with his victims. During the summer of 2023, I received multiple letters from him despite his awareness that I wanted zero contact and in violation of a court-imposed contact ban.

This is why I get so frustrated whenever the court trusts Luke Wenke’s word that he can or will curb his problematic behaviour. Just a quick glance at his social media posts indicates a high likelihood to the contrary; moreover, Wenke has a well-established history of continuing to contact victims even while locked up for similar offenses. He just doesn’t stop, and he’s made it clear that he has no intention to. At what point is enough enough?
